7.Direct all PyroMusic enquires to Pyro.Ablaze in Hatred are a relatively new Finnish group adding worth to a very particular niche of doom that has been brewing quietly over the last few years by the likes of Draconian and Swallow the Sun, one where familiar themes such as loss and heartbreak are met with hope and sanguinity.Its quite staggering how such a young group can create such an intensely rich work so early into their career.On only their first full length, Ablaze in Hatred have churned some of the densest moods, emotions and structures that most bands still struggle to achieve five releases into their career.Deceptive Awareness' features some of the strongest songwriting and imagery to emerge in the genre, and an ability to create long expansive songs that rarely tire or fail to engage the listener.Sonically, the refined songwriting is assisted by guitar tone that is so immense it's astounding, and a vocal performance nothing short of exceptional.One of the things that I have enjoyed most about Ablaze in Hatred is that their intentions seem entirely pure and justified.Ablaze in Hatred are able to connect with their listener on an almost personal level and take them on an amazing journey, both visually and sonically.The world is truly their oyster.Our staff will check back regularly and do our best to answer all queries.Finland seems to have a deceptive name.For some reason, it all sounds a bit 'distinctly Finnish' as well; it might be a hint of Shape Of Despair in there, or the general clean sound which I've heard on some Finnish releases.The first track, 'When the Blackened Candles Shine', is also the best because of its special catchy melody, but the whole MCD is actually pretty good.Ablaze in Hatred to you.Finland's Ablaze in Hatred delivered a nice demo, 2005's 'Closure of Life', and they've since been signed by Firedoom.Actually, my opinion hasn't been changed much by this album, as both Ablaze in Hatred's strong and weak points have remained the same.The tracks are based around catchy, melancholic, yet relaxed melodies.At the same time, I feel other tracks lack a bit of excitement here and there, and I still think Ablaze in Hatred lean a bit too much on the sound of other Scandinavian greats.Nevertheless, as a debuting band, Ablaze in Hatred can be proud, as this is a fine achievement.This is recommended to lovers of relaxing, dreamy doom.Finnish doom as possible.This reliance on existing formulae is also its main downfall, ...Another year, another Finnish doom metal band that sounds pretty much the same as all the rest.Would you like to Login now to your account?
