5ive's Continuum Research Project

5ive's Continuum Research Project - biography
BassAdditional notesFormerly known as 5ive.From there on out the song sort of cycles through its various phases again in condensed form before it comes to a close very quietly, not unlike it began. The CD comes very nicely housed in an interestingly folded digipack sleeve printed entirely in black ink on matte metallic silver paper. All of the imagery is a repeating abstract texture that looks like some sort of moving light pattern. The insert is equally as simple but equally as bold, using brightly metallic silver foil lettering on a square of matte blue paper. One of the most noteworthy features of this album is the intensity of the music.Actually it's thick enough to be almost claustrophobic if you just turn up the volume far enough. And when they come it's usually a bass line that dominates it.Some hints of industrial guitar sounds are replacing the melody and keep the music interesting, even though the flow of the music is mainly the same throughout a song.Is there anything I've left out?Actually this review took a while longer to write than I had anticipated because I've been so busy headbanging to the music. It's about the silence that remains now that the music has stopped.Reviewed by: Arnstein H.In other words maturing, and 5ive matured in less than a year. But if you like Pelican, and Pavementsaw, then this is definitely something that can capture your interest. Thus I better finish this before I get a whiplash. This EP was released as a very limited edition version of the 'Kid606 VS 5ive's Continuum Research Project' split 12".Also the third track, 'Man Or Maker...In fact when originally recorded it wasn't supposed to be a 5ive's Continuum Research Project track at all.Compared to their earlier releases the sound is very much the same, so how they manage to make each of the songs sound unique is beyond me.The sound of this project isn't the powerful drone force that 5ive's Continuum Research Project produce. It's still drone, but it's much lighter and more...Reviewed by: Arnstein H.Please, choose tracks for downloading.Odd Halo is also accepting submissions
for release of all styles of music. When Charlie entered the picture
he wasn't even playing drums and I was playing bass as my main instrument. This helps to give everyone a different experience when seeing us.The album was the 1st thing that I recorded
in what is now Odd Halo Recordings Studio Division. The Theory Of Abstract Light? It gets the message
across much better.TOAL and what do you want to explore in the
future with these projects? If anyone would like to reach me (and I urge anyone out
there to do so) here I am.Magnus Jaschke in March 2003.Belgium:
